About these tools
📕 Xiaohongshu Caption Counter
Made for captions with a hard character limit. Besides the usual counts it tracks emoji separately and reports three ways of counting — grapheme clusters, code points and UTF-16 code units. One 👨👩👧 family emoji counts as 1, 5 or 8 characters depending on the method, which is the usual reason a caption looks short but the editor says it is over the limit. It also checks the common 1000-character caption and 20-character title limits, and always computes the remaining budget with the most expensive method so the advice errs on the safe side.
🎓 Thesis Character Counter
What a plagiarism-check system counts as "the text" drives both the fee and the similarity score, so this tool reports characters without spaces, characters with spaces, and characters without spaces or punctuation, plus Chinese characters, English words and number runs. Enter your provider’s price per 1000 characters to estimate the cost of a check. In mixed Chinese-English theses the word count and the character count can differ wildly — worth knowing before you submit.
🔤 Mixed Chinese-English Word Count
Settles the "how long is this text really" argument: the word-count method counts each English word as one, the character-count method counts each letter, so an 8-letter word differs by 7 between them. The tool breaks the text down item by item, shows the difference formula with your own numbers plugged in, and reports the Chinese, Latin and other share — useful for submission limits, study-abroad essay word counts and translation quotes.
